Many of my past book giveaways were titles that would appeal primarily to women. So here's one for the boys! The publisher has graciously offered me three copies to give away. If your père loves Paris, this would be a great Father's Day gift, non

Short literary snippets highlight the city’s many pleasures such as smoking a cigar on a café terrace, getting your shoes shined, enjoying a morning espresso, exploring second-hand bookshops, renting a classic car, playing outdoor tennis, buying a fitted suit or wandering the city at dusk.

The 160-page book also includes a guide to choosing wine and whiskey and info on the city’s best cocktail bars, night clubs, cafés and ‘’secret hideaways.’’ Plus, you’ll find interviews with famous Parisian men including François Simon, Frédéric Beigbeder, Fabrice Lucchini and Edouard Baer.

Author Thierry Richard writes the popular blog Chroniques du Plaisir. He also works as a food critic for several guides to Paris and as a literary journalist for the Magazine des Livres. 32. Dear Julie,

Well, what a wonderful offer. Am I eligible to enter the obviously fierce competition?,....given that I already won the Amelie mustard give-away (that stuff is/was really GOOD, by the way) and already have a Paris apartment (which may not count against me, since I've spent only two nights there in eight years)???

In any case, I'll probably be ordering this book....to keep in the Paris apartment. We happily put-up visitors/friends there on a regular basis. Just recently, I was awfully glad to be able to tell a newly-married couple (she's the very capable manager of one of my galleries, but this couple is scarcely wealthy) that they could strike "Save Up for Hotel" from their honeymoon budgeting. So, they stayed (for free, of course) in our circa 1900 apartment during their first, ten-day trip to Paris.

whoever came up with the concept for this book is one smart cookie. As you'll know, almost all the English-language books on Paris have a markedly "girly" slant to them. Rather obviously, I'm the last person who's in a position to look askance at "girly" things, but this book sounds like a real treat for most guys.

As ever, reading your blog is always an informative eye-opening experience. Just how many ears do you have to keep to the ground?....you seem to pick up on everything innovative/creative.

Admiringly, and thanks again for your always-useful blog.
