Snow in Les Baux!
In Provence, early March usually heralds the beginning of the outdoor cafe season. Instead, we got snow. A Marseille-based photographer who goes by MarcoVdz took this great shot in Les Baux, using a Nikon D5000 and Photoshop 7. You can see more of Marco's dramatic Provence photography, with and without snow, on his Flickr page and on his website. [Disclaimer: Marco took this photo in January...but so what.]

This is such a fabulous image. SO much snow this year in France.
ReplyDeleteOne day I will go there. This photo is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThis photo is lovely but this wonter has been so hard with us. Snow is so unusual in Provence
ReplyDeleteJulie -- If you haven't already tried to sell the photo of the car laced with that layer of snow, DO SO! It's absolutely gorgeous; I've rarely seen such a good shot of Provence in winter. Great eye.
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
Michael
PS: But aren't you just so over this winter? Long and tedious! But the snow is now gone in Stuttgart and we're to have 15°, 16° temperatures in the coming days, which means you'll have your outdoor café season soon enough!
:-)
Julie, I like your blog very much it has the feel of Provence all over it. What a great pic of Les Baux in the snow! It makes me so nostalgic. I used to live in Aix en Provence and I just love Provence. Now I live in Chicago because of business. But I miss Provence and its scents and food and wine and life style...
