  33. Dear Julie,

Well, what a wonderful offer. Am I eligible to enter the obviously fierce competition?,....given that I already won the Amelie mustard give-away (that stuff is/was really GOOD, by the way) and already have a Paris apartment (which may not count against me, since I've spent only two nights there in eight years)???

In any case, I'll probably be ordering this book....to keep in the Paris apartment. We happily put-up visitors/friends there on a regular basis. Just recently, I was awfully glad to be able to tell a newly-married couple (she's the very capable manager of one of my galleries, but this couple is scarcely wealthy) that they could strike "Save Up for Hotel" from their honeymoon budgeting. So, they stayed (for free, of course) in our circa 1900 apartment during their first, ten-day trip to Paris.

whoever came up with the concept for this book is one smart cookie. As you'll know, almost all the English-language books on Paris have a markedly "girly" slant to them. Rather obviously, I'm the last person who's in a position to look askance at "girly" things, but this book sounds like a real treat for most guys.

As ever, reading your blog is always an informative eye-opening experience. Just how many ears do you have to keep to the ground?....you seem to pick up on everything innovative/creative.

Admiringly, and thanks again for your always-useful blog.
